Why I Built FindCamp

For years, planning a camping trip felt harder than it should. Not because there weren't enough campsites — quite the opposite. There were too many.

The problem was never finding campsites — it was deciding

Every trip started the same way: dozens of browser tabs, map apps, booking sites, blog articles, old guest comments. Campsites claiming to be family-friendly, peaceful, shaded, beachfront, pet-friendly and everything else at the same time.

The problem wasn't finding campsites. The problem was deciding.

We all care about different things

Some campers want direct beach access. Others want shade, quiet surroundings, clean facilities, or spacious pitches for larger RVs. Yet most camping websites focus on bookings rather than helping you understand which campsite actually fits your trip.

The questions that actually matter

I found myself spending hours comparing options, reading scattered guest comments, zooming in on satellite imagery, trying to answer simple questions:

  • Will this campsite be noisy?
  • Are the pitches shaded?
  • Is it crowded?
  • Can I walk to the beach?
  • Is it suitable for a larger campervan?

The information existed somewhere. It was just scattered across dozens of websites. That frustration became the idea behind FindCamp.

A decision tool, not a booking platform

FindCamp is not another booking platform. In fact, you cannot book anything on FindCamp. Instead, FindCamp was built as a campsite decision tool. The goal is simple: help campers narrow down hundreds of options and identify the campsites that truly match their travel style.

We collect and organise the things that actually drive the decision — not just location and star ratings, but practical factors like shade, noise levels, beach access, family friendliness, RV suitability and facilities. Because choosing a campsite should feel less like research and more like planning an adventure.

Confidence, not availability

Europe is home to thousands of incredible campsites. The challenge has never been availability — it's confidence. Confidence that the campsite you choose will match the experience you're looking for. FindCamp was created to make that decision easier.

Today FindCamp covers 1,890 campsites across five European countries — Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, Greece and Germany — and it's only the beginning. We're continuously expanding the database, sharpening our campsite insights, and finding smarter ways to help campers land on the right match.

If you love camping, road trips, RV travel, or simply spending time outdoors — welcome to FindCamp. I built it for people like us.
